A statistical technique called the transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) analyzes the frequencies of alleles that are passed on from parents to impacted offspring and those that are not. This family-based association test quantifies the excess allele transmission from heterozygous parents to afflicted children. Finding mutations connected to disease genes linked to complicated disorders can be done with the use of the TDT. The parents' and afflicted people's genotypes are needed. The foundation of the TDT is the idea that the parents' allele at a locus that is not involved in the disease should be randomly transferred if the locus is unrelated to the sickness.
