Children between the ages of one and three years old undergo the Brain Evoked Response Auditory (BERA) hearing test. In the meanwhile, an Oto Acoustic Emission (OAE) examination can be performed on younger children. It can be determined that the child's hearing function is within normal ranges and that no more medical treatment is required if the BERA test results indicate that the child's hearing is in good condition. On the other hand, if the findings of the BERA test are deemed abnormal, the examination will proceed to estimate or anticipate the hearing threshold, and early implementation of hearing aid use is required for hearing rehabilitation. The actual BERA test will take about one hour.
